Holiday Baking For The Weekend

It’s the holiday’s and holiday baking seems to be a must, especially when you throw in a cookie exchange or office party.  I find having a few home-baked items on hand during the holidays are great for co-workers, neighbors and the folks who help take care of me all year-long (the dog walker, cleaning lady, manicurist).  Whether you’re an avid baker or more of a novice (you own one cookie pan and it is usually used to heat tater tots), here are some great options that are sure to be enjoyed.

Really Easy – Little or no bake options:

Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites from 17 and Baking

Fruit and Nut Chocolate Sticks from Better Homes and Gardens

 Fruit and Nut Chocolate Bars

Rollo Ritz Sandwich Cookies that originated from Lick the Bowl Good

 Rollo Ritz Cracker Sandwich Cookies

This Mini Oreo Cheesecake recipe by From Cass With Love looks so good and reminds me of one of my favorite treats Mom used to make – her Oreo cheesecake. BEWARE:  Although these are no bake options that seem easy they might be a bit challenging for a novice.

I have made these Cowboy Cookies from This Humble Home before and can attest they are AWESOME.  They also make a ton – great for a cookie exchange.

I like to make bars at the holidays as I find it less time-consuming than cookies.  These S’more Bars by Sugar Cooking look so Ooey Gooey good and a great way to bring a summer treat into the holiday season.

Feeling like a bit of a challenge?  Try these Salted Caramel Shortbread Cookies to impress.

Are you planning on baking this weekend?  What are your go-to holiday baking treats you can’t live without this time of year?
